HC Deb 21 June 1912 vol 39 c2078W
Mr. BOLAND

asked whether the Congested Districts Board will use its good offices to complete negotiations for the purchase of the Blennerhassett estate near Caragh, county Kerry, in view of the fact that the tenants have made their offer?

Mr. BIRRELL

The answer is in the affirmative.

Mr. DORIS

asked whether a sale of the Blake estate, Towerhill, county Mayo, to the Congested Districts Board has yet been completed; and, if so, when the Board intend to take possession of the property and to distribute the grazing lands thereon amongst the occupiers of uneconomic holdings in the district?

Mr. BIRRELL

Terms for purchase of the estate referred to have been arranged, and the draft preliminary agreement is at present with the vendor's solicitors for their approval. As soon as this agreement is settled the Congested Districts Board will go into possession of the property, and will deal with it without any avoidable delay.
