HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 cc2000-1W
Sir FREDERICK LOW

asked the Attorney-General whether his attention has been called to a recent decision of the Chancery Division of the High Court under which a purchaser of land who had bought under a title and contract approved by the Court, and who had paid his purchase money, was declared to have a bad title to part of the property purchased; and whether provision will be made in the proposed Land Transfer Bill, or otherwise, for preventing the recurrence of a similar result?

Sir RUFUS ISAACS

I have made inquiries and have ascertained that the facts are substantially as stated in the question. The Government are considering provisions in the proposed Land Transfer Bill to prevent recurrence of a similar result.
