HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 cc1992-3W
Mr. MOLTENO

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the present position of the Death Duties Bill introduced into the Parliament of the Union of South Africa; and whether he has any official information showing that it is likely to become law in the present Session of the Union Parliament, and with what, if any, modifications of the original provisions?

Mr. HARCOURT

According to the last information in my possession, which came, however, by mail, the Government was proceeding with the Bill, but, according to a telegram published in the Press, General Botha announced, on 13th June, that the Government would drop this Bill with other measures.
