HC Deb 19 June 1912 vol 39 c1805W
Mr. FFRENCH

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if any Report has yet been made by the Development Commissioners as regards income and expenditure; how much has been allotted to each of the three Kingdoms and how much has been expended in each; and whether it is the intention of the Commissioners to issue a Report for the year ending March, 1912; and, if so, when will it appear?

Mr. MASTERMAN

An account of the receipts into and issues out of the Development Fund is made annually by the Treasury as prescribed by Section 2 (4) of the Development and Road Improvement Funds Act, 1909. The last report was House of Commons Paper No. 12 of 1912. The total advances recommended by the Development Commissioners are approximately:—

£
England and Wales 260,200
Scotland 121,900
Ireland 142,600
and the total amounts actually issued from the Development Fund to date:—
£
England and Wales 57,700
Scotland 5,500
Ireland 21,700
The apportionment between England and Wales and Scotland can only be regarded as approximate in both cases, as certain Grants were made to the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries for Great Britain as a whole. The Commissioners' Report to the Treasury under Section 4 (6) of the Act is being prepared and will be presented as soon as possible.
