HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 cc1643-4W
Mr. MUNRO-FERGUSON

asked the Secretary for Scotland, whether, before the conclusion of the Committee stage of the Temperance (Scotland) Bill, he intends to make any provision to deal with the monopoly value of a new licence as under Clause 4 of the English Licensing Act, 1904?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I regret that I am unable to do what my right hon. Friend suggests.

Mr. HOGGE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he can state the number of registered clubs in Scotland which would be affected by the new clause in the Temperance (Scotland) Bill dealing with the hours of sale in such clubs?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I am informed that last year the number of registered clubs in Scotland was between 500 and 600.
