HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 cc1633-4W
Mr. H. W. FORSTER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, if there is in existence any agreement or undertaking between the British Government and the Portuguese Government, providing that if the latter constructed a railway from Lourenço Marques to the boundary of Swaziland, the British Government would continue this line across Swaziland into the Transvaal at Ermilo, or elsewhere; if the Portuguese Government have constructed their part of this railway; and what progress has been made with the extension of the line from the Portuguese boundary to Ermilo?

Mr. HARCOURT

I am not aware of the existence of the agreement referred to.
