HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 cc1630-1W
Mr. BOLAND

asked the Chief Secretary whether all the outstanding points in connection with the purchase of the Jermyn estate at Castle Cove have now been settled; and can he state when the transaction will be completed?

Mr. BIRRELL

Terms for purchase of this estate have been agreed upon between the owner and the Congested Districts Board, and the title is at present being investigated. Subject to the vendor proving his title, the Board expect that the property will be vested in them at an early date.

Mr. HUGH LAW

asked whether any steps have been taken, in consequence of representations received, with a view to the drainage of the River Lackagh and the lands surrounding Glen Lough, in county Donegal?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Congested Districts Board inform me that until they purchase all or some of the lands affected they would not be in a position to consider the drainage of lands flooded by the River Lackagh. Negotiations for the purchase of some of the lands affected are in progress.
