HC Deb 17 June 1912 vol 39 cc1446-7W
Lord CHARLES BERESFORD

asked whether a valuer has any right to value land without personally inspecting and measuring the boundaries; whether he is aware that on the property of Mr. Edward Packe, Loughborough, a valuer named Moody came down in February, 1911 and, after a conversation with a farmer, a Mr. Jackson, valued Mr. Jackson's farm and three others belonging to Messrs. Eggleston, T. Hall, and J. Sims without inspecting them or having been near the farms; and whether this course has the sanction of the Land Commissioners?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

From inquiries that have been made of Mr. Moody it would appear that the Noble Lord has been misinformed in this matter, and, therefore, the last part of the question does not arise.
