§ Mr. LAURENCE HARDYasked the President of the Board of Education on what date the new increase of pensions for teachers will come into effect; whether teachers who retire within the next few months will receive the full pension promised, and whether he will give generous consideration to these teachers, who are undoubtedly deserving of the new boon promised to teachers?
§ Mr. J. A. PEASEIt will be proposed in the Bill to amend the Elementary School Teachers (Superannuation) Act, 1898, that it shall take effect as from the 1st April, 1912. If the House approves the increased benefits will, therefore, be available for all teachers in recorded service on the 31st March, 1912.
