HC Deb 13 June 1912 vol 39 cc1190-1W
Sir HENRY KIMBER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that a number of trade unionists are under the impression that the stamps representing the contributions for both Parts I. and II. of the National Insurance Act will have to be affixed to the same card, and that in consequence they must select their trade union for the administration of their insurance; and whether he will take steps to correct this impression?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I am not aware of the existence of the impression referred to by the hon. Member. It is, of course, erroneous. Separate stamps will be required to be affixed to separate cards for the purposes of health insurance and unemployment insurance respectively. Steps being taken by means of explanatory leaflets and lectures to make these matters clear to all persons concerned. It is also made clear on the health insurance contribution cards which are now being distributed to approved societies.
