§ Sir JOHN SPEARasked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he is aware of the increase of the red water disease in cattle; and, having regard to the number of cases of the disease resulting in many deaths and deterioration of condition in other cases in the Tavistock district, will he cause an investigation into the nature of the disease, with a view to discovering a remedy and preventive?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANI am aware of the prevalence of this disease in the neighbourhood of Tavistock. Investigations with regard to it are being carried on by the Board's veterinary officers, but the hon. Member will see from a leaflet and from the annual report of the Board of1208W proceedings under the Diseases of Animals Acts for the year 1908, copies of which I am sending to him, that a considerable amount of information as to the measures to be adopted for its prevention and cure is already available.
