§ Mr. COWANasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that farmers in Aberdeenshire are unable to obtain telephone connection at the reduced rate of £3 per annum recently promised, and are unable in some cases to obtain any replies to applications for such facilities; and whether he can state what is the reason for the delay in affording these facilities?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELI am assured that all applications for service at the revised rural party-line rates have been replied to promptly, but, of course, it cannot be stated definitely whether a rural party-line can be provided in any particular neighbourhood until inquiry as to the support obtainable has been made. If the hon. Member will let me know the names of districts he has in view, I will let him know the circumstances in each case.
