§ Mr. TOUCHEasked the Home Secretary if he has now completed his inquiry into the manner in which Police Court witnesses are subjected to inconvenience and loss of time, as illustrated in the case of Mr. Alexander Horner; and can he take any steps to improve the arrangements for the attendance of witnesses and avoid unnecessary inconveience and loss of time by the publication of a daily list, or the adoption of other measures for obviating the disadvantages of the present system?
§ Mr. McKENNAI am making inquiry in the matter, and will let the hon. Member have an answer as soon as I am in a position to do so. He will bear in mind that, though I can bring the matter to the notice of the authorities of the Central Criminal Court, I have no power to control their arrangements.
