§ Mr. CLOUGHasked whether the Army Act of the United Kingdom is incorporated in the Defence Acts of Australia and New Zealand?
Mr. HARCOURTThe Army Act is not incorporated in the New Zealand Defence Act. Under the Defence Act of the Commonwealth the military forces while on active service are subject to the Army Act save in so far as it is inconsistent with the Commonwealth Act, and subject to the condition that regulations may prescribe that any provisions of the Army Act shall not apply to the military forces.

Mr. HARCOURTThe matter referred to by the hon. Member is one affecting the practical working of the Acts, and I am not in a position to state what is the practice in this regard either in the Commonwealth or New Zealand.
