§ Mr. KEIR HARDIEasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been drawn to a resolution passed by the Merthyr Tydfil union to the effect that the cost of education and the maintenance of main roads should be transferred from the local rates to the National Treasury; and whether it is his intention to give effect to this proposal?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI have received the resolution. The matter is one affecting the relations between local and Imperial taxation, and is now being considered by the Local Taxation Committee.
