§ Sir HILDRED CARLILEasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) whether, under the Imperial wireless telegraph scheme, a station is to be erected at Mombasa and, in that case, on whom the cost will fall; and (2) whether a station in to be erected at Nairobi; and, if so, whether the cost will be borne by the Home Government?
Mr. HARCOURTThe cost of the high-power station proposed to be erected under the Imperial wireless scheme in the highlands of East Africa will be borne by the Home Government. It is also proposed to erect a low-power station at Mombasa, the cost of which will be a charge upon the revenues of the East Africa Protectorate.
