§ Mr. JOYCEasked the Secretary for War whether his attention has been called to the manner in which the Fair-Wage Resolution of the House of Commons is being violated by a contractor named Fletcher, who has a contract from the War Office at Limerick; whether this man is employing, both at masonry and painting, men who are known in the trade as handymen, to the detriment of the bond fide tradesmen; whether Fletcher has been waited on by the local trade societies and asked to discontinue this practice, and that his answer has been that he is not allowed enough money to employ proper tradesmen: and will an inquiry be held into this matter with the view of compelling this contractor to carry out the Fair-Wage Resolution of the House of Commons, and also to have his name removed from the list of contractors?
