§ Mr. NANNETTIasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the building of the Labour Exchange offices in Dublin have yet been commenced; if not, what is the cause of the delay; and will he speed on the building of these long-delayed premises?
Mr. ROBERTSONI am informed by the Irish Department of Public Works that the plans of the permanent building for the Irish Divisional Office and Dublin Labour Exchange have been completed, and that tenders for the building will probably be called for in the course of a few days. As I have already informed the hon. Member, the building is being2960W erected by the owner of the site, and not by the Department of Public Works. Difficulties have been experienced in estimating the requirements of the combined Labour Exchange and Unemployment Insurance staff which will be housed in the building, but I do not anticipate any further delay.
