§ Mr. McKENNAThe hon. Member has been misinformed. No draft of general Regulations under the Act has yet been issued. Drafts are now under consideration, but are not yet ready to be issued under the Act.
§ Mr. HANCOCKasked the President of the Board of Trade whether any inspectors of horses have been appointed under the Coal Mines Act of 1911; if so, how many; and for which districts have they been appointed?
§ Mr. McKENNANo appointments have yet been made. A very large number of applications have been received, and, in accordance with the promise given last year on the Coal Mines Bill, these have been referred to the Board for Mining Examinations for consideration. It is proposed to appoint one inspector for each of the six divisions into which the country will eventually be divided for inspection purposes.
