HC Deb 24 November 1911 vol 31 cc1632-3W
Mr. LYNCH

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he can state the proportion of successful inoculations in the case of revaccination of soldiers as compared with that of primary cases in the same class according to the latest statistics available; whether he can state the number per 1,000 of successful inoculations of revaccinated children according to the latest statistics of his Department; and whether any medical comment in the circumstances is available?

Colonel SEELY

The figures of successful results for the year 1910 for the forces at home and abroad were as follows:—

Soldiers. Children.
Revaccination 87.4 73.4
Primary vaccination 90.2 86.6

These figures show an improvement of 12 per cent. in revaccination over the previous year in the case of soldiers, and of 1 per cent. in the case of children.
