§ Mr. HAYDENasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that many of the secretaries of pension committees in Ireland have not yet been paid their fees for the quarter ended 30th September last; and whether he will take such steps as may be necessary to ensure as regular payment of these officials as is the case in regard to the direct officials of the Government?
Mr. McKINNON WOODI am informed by the Board of Customs and Excise that every endeavour is made to secure regular payment of these fees. The adoption of the 1911 Census figures has necessitated fresh assignments of the fees for the quarter ended 30th September last, for which resolutions must be passed by the pension committees. The latter have been communicated with on this point, but the majority of them have not yet replied.
