§ Mr. J. A. PEASEThe answer to the first part of the question is 142. With regard to the second part of the question, the number of children on the registers of special schools under the Elementary Education (Defective and Epileptic Children) Act, 1899, in England and Wales on the 31st July of this year was 17,333, of whom 12,253 were mentally defective, 4,703 physically defective, and 377 epileptic. I have no information with regard to the last part of the question.
