Major WHITEasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is proposed to withhold the balance of the employer's contribution paid in respect of an insured person from the control of the insured person's approved society, after the necessary expenses of the Insurance Commissioners and other expenses have been deducted?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe moneys in question will be retained by the Insurance Commissioners for investment and will be eredited, together with interest at the prescribed rate, to the respective societies. I may perhaps remind the hon. and gallant Member that the expenses of the Insurance Commissioners will be borne separately by the State and will not fall to be deducted from contributions paid under the scheme.
