HC Deb 17 November 1911 vol 31 c795W
Mr. MORRELL

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the inconvenience that may arise owing to the refusal of the Post Office authorities to employ messenger boys in their service for the delivery of postage stamps; and whether he will consider the desirability of altering the regulations so as to enable people to send by telephone for the stamps they require?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

There are obvious risks in the delivery of stamps, which might be in such number as to be of considerable monetary value, by boy messengers in response to requests by telephone, the payment to be collected by the boys on delivery; and I do not think it advisable to establish such a system.
