HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 c165W
Mr. BOTTOMLEY

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can state the number of persons who have been incarcerated in lunatic asylums during the past five years for religious mania, the number of suicides during the same period from the same cause, and the number of deaths which have occurred as the result of religious disturbances during the same period?

Mr. McKENNA

The statistics of lunacy and of suicide do not distinguish cases of so-called religious mania from other cases of mania, nor are deaths classified under any such head as deaths from religious disturbances. I am unable, therefore, to give the figures the hon. Member desires.
