HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 cc168-9W
Mr. ORDE-POWLETT

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he can give the reasons for refusing the request of the British Dairy Farmers' Association for a grant to enable them to organise the sixth international dairy congress to be held in England in 1913, seeing that the Swedish Government thought it advisable in the interests of farmers in that country to grant £1,500 for the congress held this year at Stockholm; and whether a grant from the Development Fund could be made for this purpose?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on this subject to the hon. Member for Carmarthenshire West on the 7th November. I have no authority to make a grant from the Development Fund.
