asked the President of the Board of Trade if he would give the details of the respective sums standing to the credit of depositors and of stock held 870W by them in the Post Office Savings Bank on 31st December, 1909, and in the trustee savings banks on 25th November, 1909, which make up the total of £240,919,000, as given in the Return, No. 133, United Kingdom (Trade, Commerce, and Condition of the People)?

Amount due to depositors at end of year:

In Post Office Savings Bank £164,596,000

In Trustee Savings Banks 52,182,000

Amount of Government Stock standing to the credit of, or held for,depositors:

In Post Office Savings Bank 21,640,000

In Trustee Savings Bank 2,501,000

Total £240,919,000
