asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can state or will he agree to a Return stating the numbers, respectively, of homicides, other crimes of violence, and burglaries known to the police in London, in the Provinces, and in the whole of the United Kingdom for each of the years 1895 to 1910, both inclusive?

I can only give the information for the years 1897 to 1909. The figures for that period are as follows:—

RETURN stating the numbers, respectively, of Homicides, Other Offences against the Person, and Burglaries and Housebreaking known to the Police in London City and Metropolitan Police Districts, in the Provinces, and in the whole of the United Kingdom, for each of the years 1897 to 1909, inclusive.
