Mr. PIKE PEASEasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that the hairdressers of London are practically unanimously in favour of Sunday closing; and whether, under the circumstances, the Government will insert a Clause to this effect in the Shops Bill?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLI did not gather that this was so from the deputation of the London and Suburban Master Hairdressers' Association, of which a report appears on pages 89 to 92 of the Parliamentary Paper (Cd. 5632). I am given to understand, however, that negotiations are now proceeding between the different parties, which it is hoped may lead to a general agreement in the trade in favour of Sunday closing.
