HC Deb 04 May 1911 vol 25 cc729-30W
Mr. HARMOOD-BANNER

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has received any information from the Liverpool authorities which will enable him to inform the House of increased safeguards for the preservation of public peace and the prevention of outrages similar to those inflicted on workmen on the night of 23rd April between Everton and Bibby's Mills, Liverpool?

Mr. MASTERMAN

My right hon. Friend is informed by the Chief Constable that extra police have been put on duty in the district to prevent such outrages as the hon. Member refers to. Two men were arrested in connection with the affair, but the persons injured did not identify them as having been among their assailants.
