§ Mr. CLOUGHasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he has received an appeal from the West Riding County Council for his permission to substitute 4d. for the present 3d. limit upon the rate for higher education, imposed by the Education Act, 1902, and, if so, whether he can see his way to at once consent to that substitution?
§ Mr. BURNSThe matter is at present under the careful consideration of the Board. There was considerable opposition to the application at the local inquiry, and many important points were raised. I will, however, give my decision as early as possible.
