§ Mr. CLAUDE LOWTHERasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention had been drawn to the promises which have been made to the miners on strike in the Rhondda Valley, that when their trade union funds are exhausted an appeal will be made to the country for further funds to continue the strike; and whether the Government is taking any steps to bring about a settlement of the dispute?
Mr. BUXTONI am afraid I cannot say anything more at present than that, as the House is already aware, the Board of Trade have throughout been in communication with the parties to this dispute, and that any further developments that may occur will be carefully watched and considered.
