The following are the names of the protected cruisers placed on the sale list or condemned as unfit for future effective service since 1906, namely: "Melarnpus," "Pique," "Retribution," "Tribune," "Gladiator," "St. George."* "Blake,"* "Blenheim,"* "Apollo,"† "Andromache,"† "Iphigenia,"† "Intrepid,"† "Naiad,"† "Latona,"† "Thetis,"† "Bonaventure,"‡ "Arrogant."§ * Fitted as depot ships for torpedo boat destroyers. † Fitted as mine-layers. ‡ Kitted as a depot ship for submarines. § Being fitted as a hulk for submarine crews.
