§ Mr. BURNSI have received a letter from one of the men charged and convicted in connection with the recent disturbance at Belmont Workhouse, alleging that he took no part in the disturbance. I understand that evidence was given before the magistrates to the contrary, and that the magistrates convicted him. I do not propose to take any action in the matter.
