Sir GILBERT PARKERasked the Secretary for the Colonies whether the Legislature of the Bahamas has adopted a resolution in favour of union with Canada; and, if so, what is the attitude of His Majesty's Government in regard to this proposal?
Mr. HARCOURTI have received a telegram stating that the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council have passed a resolution asking for the approval of His Majesty's Government for the transmission to the Government of Canada of an invitation to consider whether it is possible that the Colony should enter the Canadian Dominion. His Majesty's Government propose to await the arrival of the text of the resolution by mail before considering their attitude in regard to it.
