§ Mr. GOLDMANasked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been drawn to the increase in the consumption of standard bread; whether he has any evidence that imitation standard bread is being sold, produced by the addition to the flour of undesirable elements; and whether, in these circumstances, he will accelerate the publication of the reports of the investigations now being made by his officers on the subject?
§ Mr. BURNSI have seen a large number of newspaper paragraphs in regard to so-called standard bread, and a certain number of letters have been addressed to the Local Government Board on the subject. As I have already stated, the question is being investigated by my Foods Department, and I hope to receive a report on the subject in due course.
