HC Deb 15 March 1911 vol 22 c2413W
Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

asked the Secretary for War whether any steps can be taken to obviate the discharges that are taking place from the Woolwich torpedo factory of men over forty years of age who were unable to accept their transfer to Greenock on account of family conditions, etc.; and whether he is aware that temporary hands have been transferred to other departments of the Arsenal, while men who are now being discharged have been in the service for a long time?

Mr. HALDANE

I shall deal with this question in the Debate to-day, and I think this will be a better course than attempting to discuss the matter now.
