§ Mr. SPEARasked the President of the Board of Education if he is aware that the carrying out of the instructions of the Board relative to the exclusion of children from elementary schools in the county of Devon on medical grounds entails a loss of Grant to the extent of £1,200 to £1,400 annually; and whether, in view of the cause of such decrease, he will arrange that the reduction of the grant be discontinued?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANI cannot find that the Board have received any communication from the authority on this matter, and I have no independent information. With reference to the second part of the question, I am not prepared to amend the existing articles of the code, except in connection with a general revision of the system of grants for public elementary schools.
