Captain FABERasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will cause inquiry to be made as to why Charles Holdaway, of Easton, Winchester, is only receiving an old age pension of 4s. a week, seeing that he is seventy-two years of age?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe reason for the 4s. rate of pension is that this is the rate appropriate to Holdaway's means, as estimated by the committee who adjudicated on his claim. I understand that since the pension was originally granted Holdaway's means have not changed so as to entitle him to a pension of 5s. a week.
