Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the First Lord of the Admiralty, whether he is aware that the firm of Armstrong, Whitworth, and Company, at their works at Openshaw, Manchester, are violating the fair wage clause by employing men to do grinding, glazing, and buffing at 24s. per week, the trade rate in the district being 38s. per week; whether he is aware that this firm is being constantly complained of with regard to the way in which it evades the spirit, if not always the letter, of the fair wage clause; and whether he will cause an inquiry to be made into the matter?
