§ Mr. FIELDasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state the cause of delay in the formation of an advisory committee in connection with the Dublin Labour Exchange; whether he can state the cause of delay in the erection of a suitable building for the Labour Exchange in Dublin; and whether he is aware that employment and accommodation are urgently required?
Mr. BUXTONThe formation of an Advisory Trade Committee for Ireland, which will be representative of the interests concerned, has necessarily taken some time, but there has been no avoidable delay, and I hope the Committee will be constituted shortly. The delay in building a permanent Labour Exchange in Dublin is due to alterations in plans. I am aware that the present building is not very suitable, and I hope that the building of the new Exchange will be commenced at an early date.
