§ Mr. HUGH LAWasked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that a sufficient water supply is much needed in connection with the fishing industry at Downings, county Donegal; and if he can say why the works in connection with the scheme have been stopped?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Milford Rural District Council have applied to the Local Government Board for sanction to a loan of £375 to carry out the proposed works, and their inspector found on visiting the place that the works had already been commenced. The Board, before being in a position to sanction the loan, found it necessary to address the council regarding the quality of the water to be utilised for the proposed supply, and they await a reply on the subject. There is no information as to the alleged stoppages of the works.
