HC Deb 27 February 1911 vol 22 c160W
Mr. HORNER

asked the Chief Secretary if he will state the number of criminal cases, and the counties where the indictments were originally laid, in which the Law Officers of the Crown applied for and got the venues changed at the last spring and summer assizes in Ireland on the ground that fair trials could not be had in those counties?

Mr. BIRRELL

There were three cases in which the venue was changed, one in County Galway, one in County Longford, and one in County Westmeath. There were two other indictments in County Longford adjourned at Assizes, but the venue has not been changed.
