Mr. POINTERasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has any information concerning the offer by Messrs. Seigert and Sons of a plot of land, upon which labourers' cottages at present stand, to the town board of Port-of-Spain, 1691W Trinidad; and whether, in the absence of a popularly elected municipal authority, he will see that effective steps are taken to secure the views of those who, under an elective system, would be the electors of Port-of-Spain?
Mr. HARCOURTI have no details of the offer referred to by my hon. Friend. Any representations which the ratepayers may have made to the town Board will no doubt have received due attention.
