§ Mr. HALDANEArrangements were made during the progress of the negotiations for the purchase of the land in question that the present occupiers should have the first option of retaining their holdings at a rent to be agreed, and instructions have accordingly been issued that any steps taken to let the land should be subject to this understanding. Nothing is known at the War Office of any proposal to let the land to a Scotch grazier or graziers.
