HC Deb 15 December 1911 vol 32 c2813W
Sir JOHN BETHELL

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether, in view of the representations already made to him and in view of the fact that a deputation representing Excise officers has already been received, he is prepared to grant an interview to surveyors of Customs, with reference to the proposals affecting their position under the recommendations of the Customs and Excise Amalgamation Committee; and whether he will meanwhile direct that no action arising from such proposals be taken until the statement of their case, recently forwarded to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been considered?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I will confer with my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, but I regret that I cannot undertake to grant an interview.
