HC Deb 15 December 1911 vol 32 cc2821-2W
Mr. RUPERT GWYNNE

asked the President of the Local Government Board the dates of the two cases of small-pox recorded in Eastbourne within the last ten years; whether he will give the ages of the patients; what was their vaccinal condition; and was the disease supposed to have originated in the borough or was it [...]rted?

Mr. BURNS

The two cases occurred in 1902, one in the week ending 8th February and the other in the week ending 4th May, 1902. In the annual report of the medical officer of health the exact age of these patients is not given, but one is recorded as being in the age-period 15–25, and one in the age-period 25–65. I have no exact information as to the vaccinal condition of the cases. The disease was imported in both cases.
