§ Mr. RICHARDSasked the President of the Board of Education whether it is proposed to bring before the House of Commons for consideration the draft scheme of the county of Glamorgan Intermediate 1763W and Technical Fund; and whether his attention has been called to Clause 60 of the said scheme, by which it is proposed to authorise the school governors to dismiss headmasters without assigning cause, and giving them no opportunity of defence?
§ Mr. J. A. PEASEThe question whether the scheme for the Glamorgan Intermediate and Technical Education Fund, framed under the Endowed Schools Acts, 1869 to 1889, shall be brought before the House of Commons does not rest with the Board of Education but with the bodies or persons to whom power is given by the Acts to petition that the scheme be laid before Parliament. Clause 60 of the scheme, as at present drafted, is in the form usually adopted by the Board, and is in accordance with the Acts of Parliament. Under it, except where six months' notice is given, the headmaster will have an opportunity of defence.
