§ Colonel YATEasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the fact that great racial jealousy has lately been aroused in Ceylon by the taking away of one of the three seats on the Legislative Council of that island belonging to the Europeans and giving it to the native community, he will now consider the question of increasing the number of seats on that council by the addition of two extra members, one for the non-official Europeans and the other for the officials?
Mr. HARCOURTAs at present advised, His Majesty's Government see no reason for making any further change in. the composition of the Legislative Council.
