HC Deb 26 April 1911 vol 24 c1931W
Mr. REDDY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War at what date does the War Office intend to send back to the Regular battalions the officers on the Regular establishment, as laid down in the Army Estimates for the current year; and will he say whether he will consider the advantage of availing himself of the services of these officers with the line battalions now during the training season, rather than leaving them at these depôts where the recruits are of such small numbers, and their services wasted?

Colonel SEELY

The officers on the Regular establishment will be absorbed as opportunity offers. It is, however, proposed to leave them with their reserve battalions until after the training of those battalions is over, when they will return to their line battalions.
